A Wonderful Sunday!!!
With two wonderful worship services this morning and a service at the McCamey Convalescent Center, it made for a full day, and it wasn't even 2:00pm!
Afterwards, we visited with Bill and Bobbie Lester who shared with us the news that we are being presented with a weekend getaway to Escondida, a small resort near Kerrville. This is to celebrate Charles' time of ministry in west Texas evolving from "interim-pastor-status" to "appointed-pastor-status." We are truly blessed to have congregations that are so loving! Thanks be to God!!!
In the evening, we journeyed to San Angelo, where we'll spend a couple of days with Belinda's mother. Her street, Pinto Path, was ablaze with flags in observance of Memorial Day.
We are grateful for such a wonderful Sunday!!!

A busy Sunday in west Texas
We had a very busy Sunday from soup to nuts!
Our day got started in Iraan with the monthly breakfast potluck at the First UMC. After a wondership worship service we continued at the First UMC in McCamey and continued with a service at the Convalescent Center in the afternoon.
Belinda attended a piano recital being held at the FUMC in McCamey later in the day and we wrapped up the day with a baccalaureate service at the high school. We are now at home and are now into "rest-mode!"

A get-a-way in San Angelo
We enjoyed a quick getaway in San Angelo last night and today, we visited Belinda's mother and Charles attended the San Angelo District (of the SW Texas Conference) meeting in the afternoon. Before his meeting, Charles made a stop at his favorite place to eat, Schlotzky's Deli and at the San Angelo Fine Arts Museum.

New life at the parsonage
With a hot day in store for west Texas on Wednesday, we were happy to have places to work indoors!
This afternoon Charles took a neat picture of the sparrow's nest perched on a corner of the rear patio. The three babies were content to savor the breeze in the shade! This evening we went to choir practice at the church in McCamey. What a wonderful bunch of ladies!

A beautiful Sunday in McCamey
Saturday, May 15, 2010
We've really enjoyed a restful Saturday here in McCamey, we're storing up our energy that we'll need tomorrow!
We have been enjoying the flurry of winged activity taking place in our yard, there is a nest of Barn Swallows on our front porch and a nest of House Finches on the back porch.
This evening, the sun was striking the mesas with a golden hue, made even better by the cool breeze. We hope your weekend is a blessing for you too!

Wednesday in McCamey
Wednesday wasn't as hot as it has been the past couple of days. It only reached 92F!
This evening was the annual ice cream social at the First United Methodist Church in McCamey. Every year, the church invites the graduating seniors from the McCamey High School to a home-made ice cream fete`. What a treat it was!

Bunko & More
It was another hot day in west Texas! But that doesn't mean people are not enjoying themselves!
This morning, Belinda's mother returned to San Angelo after her weekend visit, and Belinda went off to work.
This evening Belinda joined in on all the fun at the monthly bunko-game gathering at the Sante Fe Depot. Belinda says "it is a hoot and a half: the ultimate good time and stress reliever!" Everyone who goes comes back tired... from laughing so hard!

A Hot and Busy Monday!
It was hot today, 104F!!! The cool weather of this weekend is now just a distant memory! This morning, Charles spent some time in Iraan, before heading to Rankin for his weekly lectionary study group. While there, he met Claire and Earl Richardson, former pastors at the Iraan and McCamey First United Methodist Churches.
Belinda's mother, Sheila, spent her afternoon volunteering at the primary school book sale. What a fun thing to do! This evening, we went to the annual UMW mother-daughter dinner. What a great group of ladies!!!
