Another project

Charles got to work on another project at the church this week, trimming some dead branches from several trees and along the sidewalk leading to Mary Sandoe House. Seventeen hours and five pickup loads later and the church grounds / parking lot is look so much better. He also took some trimmings from the parsonage!

A nice morning in Lafayette

Charles took advantage of the break in the recent heat to get in a round of golf at the Indian Peaks Golf Course in nearby Lafayette. While his score was less than great, it was a nice morning to relax after last week's painting project at the church!

Tonight's exhibition opening

We had a nice time this evening at the opening reception for Open Studio - Boulder's exhibition for the Plein Air event. Charles has a painting included among the nearly 200 works on display.

Charles' painting was done yesterday on Boulder's Pearl Street pedestrian mall. His painting is the only large piece (48x48) and is the only one that could be described as an abstract and the only one that isn't a landscape.

A colorful afternoon

First coat complete

Charles joined more than fifty other artists this week during Open Studios - Boulder's "Plein Air" event. Plein Air is a term that originated in France during the 19th century and refers to painting in the outdoors. Charles signed up to paint on the Pearl Street pedestrian mall in downtown Boulder and had a lot of fun. Belinda was a real sport, encouraging Charles as he worked on a large (48x48) canvas in the colors of a Pride flag.
