Wesley's adventure

Responding to the basement door being opened
Enough adventure for one day!
Wesley pulled a Houdini this morning, escaping the parsonage for a bit of a romp in the great outdoors. Coaxing him back inside took some doing, but in the end it was done and then he hunkered down in the basement while Charles was in the studio.

Productive use of time and space!

Working on "The Geisha of Miyajima"
Charles has been spending time each day in his basement studio reworking paintings and drawings (he'd done previously in class) using techniques he has learned since he started at the University of Montana.

Happy to be here!
Chatting with the folk at Red Rooster
Enjoying music at the Ravalli County Museum
Something for everyone at the market
A favorite stop at the Stevi market
A delightful 'stay-cation' was ours today as we took in the farmer's markets in Hamilton and Stevensville. What a treat it is to be able to have such creative people so close to us!

The weekend is upon us

The last weekend in May is upon us and with it came a brief front that brought a few showers our way. Charles rode his bike to the refuge and made it home before the rain came over the mountains to our west.

Happy anniversary, Wesley

Facebook reminded us this morning that Wesley joined our family five years ago today. We were living in McCamey, Texas at the time and were preparing for the move to San Antonio when this little ball of fur came into our lives!

from the Facebook entry from May 17, 2012:

"This tiny kitten was hanging out by my office last night. Since the owl that hunts from atop the church steeple didn't get him, we've rescued him and are looking for a forever home... any takers?"

Farmer Charles

Charles took advantage of the nice weather which followed yesterday's rain to get in the vegetable garden at the parsonage. Stopping at the Stevenville Farmers Market and at the Cottage Garden nursery, Charles got in a nice variety for this season.

This year we have: Brussel sprouts, broccoli, cheddar cauliflower, three types of cherry tomatoes, garlic, shallots, two types of beets, sweet bell peppers, and snow peas!

The little things

Sometimes it's the little things that give us a good feeling about life. Belinda, fresh from her Texas road trip with Mo, took to mowing the lawn ahead of the expected rain. A good feeling!

Another semester in the books

the four painting projects
"I dream of Pachinko"
"Paris is burning"
"The best laid plans..."
"Night Watch"
Charles last task of the semester was taken care of today with a sit-down with the painting professor to go over the term's output. The critique was very favorable and Charles was told that he has found his style and is well-poised for the start of the BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts) program in the fall!

The grades for African Art (A) and Women in Art (A+) will be added to the possible B+ or A in painting for a successful term!

Yee-haw!

Two peas in a pod!

It's been wonderful visiting with old friends in San Angelo. Sadly, it is time to return to Austin and tomorrow's return trip to Montana.
