Solar powered cats

Wesley
Monty
Both cats have favorite places from which they observe the birds and soak up the afternoon sun. Wesley likes the dryer where he visits with the neighborhood cats. Monty meanwhile likes his perch overlooking the apple tree and the bird feeders.

Playing catch-up on the blog

Tuesday morning this week
Charles' collection undergoing reorganization
Wesley overseeing the January thaw
Charles leading the Wednesday night gathering this week
Belinda shares a book with a young friend
The time since our last blog post seems to have sprinted past us! The big news of course is the January thaw - it's been in the upper 40s several days over the past week and the roads are quite clear.

The highlights:

+Belinda has been very busy, working during the day in Hamilton and on United Methodist Women (district level) several evenings each week.
+Sheila has joined a local knitting collective and is rapidly making a mark on the local knitting scene.
+Charles made the Dean's list again at the University of Montana. After four semesters he has a 3.76 gpa. Charles started classes this week - Printmaking: Screen II, Drawing: Figure, and Spanish Art history.
+Wesley & Monty are enjoying their job as professional house cats.  Wesley did manage to get out the front door for a brief couple of minutes before realizing that the snow was still on the ground, even under the bushes in front!

The week is underway

Charles at work Sunday in Hamilton
A frosty start to the week
The purr-fect place to relax
Our week got underway with a twist yesterday as we were in Hamilton at the Hamilton Federated Church (UMC & American Baptist) for their annual meeting. Charles was there to represent the Yellowstone Conference and Belinda was there as the Missoula Circuit lay leader.

With more chilly weather to start the week, we are glad to have a warm home and cars that run!

More turkey news

The turkeys that have settled into the neighborhood have made regular stops in our backyard. Yesterday morning Charles got some ground-level pics from the basements windows.  It's been fun seeing these very social birds in action.

Monty's week thus far

Monty checks out the action going on downstairs
Monty gets in one last nap before bedtime
2016 is off to a good start for Monty who is enjoying life looking out on the winter wonderland that is Stevensville.

Twelfth Night

Today marks the twelfth, and final night, of Christmas (tomorrow being Epiphany). It has been a busy, busy time for us! It is good to be safe and warm and while there is still weeks to go this winter, we know that spring isn't too far away.

Helping out at home

Wesley finds creative places to rest from his efforts as a professional house cat. He was found today resting in the soft towels that were waiting for the washer.

Seen in Missoula

Charles made four hospital visits this week in Missoula and made a point of stopping in at the chapel (at St. Patrick's Hospital). It has the most beautiful stained glass windows, something both soothing and powerful in the colors.

And we're off!

After seeing in the New Year into the wee hours of this morning, our plan was to take the day slowly and with a minimum of fuss! We were sure of eating greens and black-eyed peas (for luck) along with our Cornish pasties this evening!

2016 is before us...
