Spreading gravel on the grotto path

Enjoying the fresh look in the Grotto
Whimsical art
Charles picked up a load of gravel for the path leading to the grotto today, and with Belinda's help, gave the pathway a fresh look. In addition, we installed a 3-D art piece using donated pill bottles!

"Impromptu"
"Fifty Years of Pride"
Charles had made good use of the studio this week, restocking the paint and canvases stash and completing two new pieces. "Impromptu" (titled after a Sibelius work) and "Fifty Years of Pride" (celebrating the 50th anniversary of the first Pride Parade).

A busy week

Cleaning the house
It's been another busy week for us with the big outdoor projects at the church and parsonage completed! On Thursday, Charles tackled the big tree in the front of the parsonage, attempting to trim the dead branches. It did fill up the pickup with a load but the remainder will have to be done by a professional.

Twenty-five years and counting

Charles was ordained an elder on June 6, 1998, twenty-two years ago this month. Added to the two years that he was an provisional member of the Nebraska Annual Conference, and the one year he served as a local pastor while in seminary (in Maryland), this marks his twenty-fifth year in ministry!

An upcoming show!

Charles was accepted in a juried art show, the Boulder Open Studios Tour, scheduled for next month. Usually this tour has area artists opening up their studios to the public and a catalogue is published with a map so that people can go from place to place. This year's tour will be a virtual one and the artists will offer a selection of their works for a web page and offer a video of their process. Should be fun!

More work at the church

Charles has been making good use of his time at the church, getting lots of tasks, small and large, done. Today, he painted the cross by the church sign and the church name on the building.

Pretty day

We've had a bounty of beautiful flowers here at the parsonage. We thought we'd seen the best of the spring back in April, but the flowers keep coming!

We continue to be surprised by the flowers that continue to bloom at the parsonage. What a treat we have here in Boulder!
