Saturday outing

While the afternoon summer heat is rather unpleasant, the mornings are enjoyable. Charles took advantage of a free Saturday to get in a round of golf in Missoula at the Linda Vista course, a short course (par 58).

Fun time in Missoula

Steve, Sandy, & Charles

Charles met up with his sister, Sandy, and her husband, Steve Boda, in Missoula yesterday. Sandy and Steve were on their way to Yellowstone NP so it was nice to be able to get together for supper.

The annual Celtic festival in Missoula was taking place in Caras Park which is next to the restaurant Charles was in. It was fun seeing so many come out to share in the great entertainment!

Hump Day!

Patch soaks up the shade in the backyard
Busy ladies (with Wesley's help)

With the heat settling in upon the Bitterroot Valley, Belinda and Mo were in the basement, continuing the sorting of Mo's possessions. They were amazing!

Our week thus far

Sunday's message
Belinda hearing about the new Star Trek movie
Apple Dumpling extravaganza on Monday
Some of the 900+ dumplings
Tea & Tranquility on Tuesday
The summer heat is upon us this week but that hasn't slowed down our activities around town!

Sunday morning at the church was awesome. Monday was the fourth time we've helped make apple dumplings for the UMW to sell at next week's Creamery Picnic! Tuesday saw us enjoy the AC at the library with some relaxing coloring!

It's a picnic Friday

We were invited to the annual picnic hosted by the community Clothes Closet today. Several of the Stevi UMC members take part in this community effort and it was nice to be able to share this with them.

The latest craze

On the golf course
At Costco
At home

Charles decided to see what the fuss was all about and took part in the Pokémon Go craze! It is a silly, adult scavenger hunt based on the Pokémon card game.

It's a birthday lunch!

Each month the Stevensville Senior Center hosts a lunch for those members with birthdays during that month. It is always fun to see the decorations and to be with such lively people!

Today in history

Ten years ago today Belinda and Charles posed for this picture in our back garden on Pentire Crescent in Newquay, Cornwall. We were on our way to the Summer Ball at RAF - St. Mawgan where Charles was stationed with the US Navy.

Determination
The other day Charles and Wesley were in the basement studio when Wesley suddenly lept up to a window to catch a glimpse of Patches in the backyard.  That is one determined kitty!

On top of St. Mary's

two miles up the trail and still standing
Dean takes in the view of Stevensville
Victory!
A challenging trail
Amazing views in every direction
Charles accepted an invitation to accompany Dean Diers to hike St. Mary's Peak today. The trailhead is at 8340 ft. and rises to 9300 ft. at the fire watch station 3.5 miles of switch-back trails latter!

It took most of the day as Charles is nowhere near the shape he was just a few years ago! But, the summit was reached and Charles has lived to tell the tale. His pedometer (on his iphone) recorded 24,000+ steps on the seven mile hike!!!
