Working from home

Charles has officially begun working from home during the "shelter-in-place" period. Wesley comes to the basement work space from time to time to verify that Charles is, in fact, actually working!

We have enjoyed the many people in our neighborhood who pass by our home every since we moved here last summer. Since the state locked things down this week, we've noticed even more people biking, walking dogs, jogging, and so forth.

This morning, we placed a "chalk-the-walk" station in front of the house, inviting passerby to create something to share. We barely made it back inside before the first street artist was at, with more to follow!

Charles was in the basement study this morning and had an artificial candle on the window ledge. Wesley saw it and was intrigued by the "flickering" wick!

And just like that...

One week ago we got 8.5" inches of snow. Today, it was 63 and nary a snowflake in sight!

We have had an interesting time of late, staying close to home and doing our part to mitigate the affects of the pandemic. This was the second Sunday that Charles videoed his sermon since the church is closed for the foreseeable future. 

In the afternoon, Charles could be found on the patio, having cleared off the patio so he could work on a painting, "plein  air."

Charles has been busy in the studio recently, starting one painting on Sunday, outside in the sun, and finishing another, inside, due to cold/snow!

First day of spring

The first day of spring in Boulder was a white one, with nearly ten inches of snow falling. This was after several days of temps in the 50s & 60s!

Spring is just around the corner

There are signs of the coming first day of spring all around the parsonage and church this week!

A peculiar Sunday in Boulder

When Charles returned to Boulder on Friday afternoon, he made the decision to cancel today's worship service (and next week's as well). He went to the office on Saturday and videoed his sermon and posted it to St. Paul's UMC YouTube channel! Visit this link to watch the three-part sermon.

Charles spent the week in Cheyenne, Wyoming as part of the Mountain Sky Conference's Board of Ordained Ministry. The board was conducting interviews for those in the process of being ordained or commissioned for ministry in our Conference.

He had a wee bit of free time on Monday and took in the Wyoming State Museum exhibits. On Thursday, he walk the three blocks to the state capitol building and took in that beautiful setting.

Charles art has once again found a place in the current exhibit at Café Aion in Boulder. This is the third time his work has been shown at this venue near the University of Colorado campus.

Charles is taking advantage of the wonderful weather this weekend, working on a painting that will be submitted for consideration for the Colorado Mahlerfest!
