Trunk or Treat 2015

Charles & Chevy get aquainted
Mo has flare!
We capped off a very busy week by participating in the Stevensville UMC's Trunk or Treat event. It was fun seeing the creative costumes shown by young and young at heart alike!

Game day!

Saturday morning on the Oval
Here come the Griz!
First quarter action
Griz band on the move
The view from the student seats!
It was a busy day for us with activities taking us from Hamilton (Belinda & Mo) and Missoula (Charles).

The Hamilton scene was hopping today with bazaars, "the world's biggest garage sale." and more.  The intrepid shoppers secured numerous bargains and some amazingly good edible items at the St. Palu's Episcopal Church bazaar!

Charles in the meantime made his way to   the university where he spent nearly three hours in the welding area of the sculpture studio. Finishing all he needed to, he decided to take in the first half of the Montana - North Dakota football game (his first of the season).  The Griz were slow off the mark, but ended up winning, 42-16.

A sculpture taking shape

Charles rounded out his busy week with two trips to Missoula today.  One of them included a wee bit of work on his latest sculpting project.  A ways to go yet, but the concept (a flame) is coming along nicely.

Parsonage visitors

We had some feathered visitors in the parsonage front yard this afternoon.  One never knows what will be seen on College Street!

Monty's day

Monty is making steady progress in adjusting to his new home.  There have been a few squabbles with Wesley but for the most part they've adapted a wary attitude towards each other.  Monty has discovered the joy of lounging on the back of a recliner in the sun and in one of the many baskets we have out.

Supper time in Corvallis

Today was the annual Harvest Dinner & Dessert Auction at the Corvallis UMC.  We've gone each year we've been here and this time were accompanied by Sheila.

Charles was tickled when Belinda secured an enormous cherry pie which he promised to share!

Deer me!

Charles made a quick stop at the university library this afternoon following a meeting in Missoula.  As he was coming out, he noticed a deer making its way on the slope of Mt. Sentinel (bordering the campus).  Fascinating watching this gentle creature find a place in the shade to rest for a spell.

It's Pumpkin Time!

Belinda and Mo made their way to Meadowlark Farms outside Hamilton this afternoon for some old-fashioned fun in a pumpkin patch! They had such fun and the parsonage steps are adorned with the result of their labors.

The latest studio effort

Charles' latest effort from the screen printing class was accomplished today after a full day in the studio on campus. He was dedicated to the task, missing out on the Griz football game taking place on campus!

Sunday in Stevensville

We had a delightful Sunday in the Bitterroot Valley - picture perfect weather, wonderful worship, and a blissful afternoon of rest.

With a busy week behind us and a busy week to come (when are they not busy!), Sunday afternoons are a treat for us!

Getting along on College Street

Monty (in the sink) is oblivious to his being watched by Wesley

Wesley and Monty are getting along better lately with only the odd spat interrupting the calm on College Street.

Football Saturday

A good omen?
Falcons on the march
Rain clouds over the Sapphire Mountains
Loving the action!
Charles was invited to his first American football game of the year this morning by two players on the Florence Falcons.  Rollie Fisher and Josh Malo play in the Missoula Youth Football League and today was their only game in Florence.

So, on a chilly, damp morning, Charles joined the community in cheering on today's winning team, the Florence Falcons who defeated the Giants, 7-6!!

First Friday & scarecrows in Stevensville

First Friday in October in Stevensville comes with the annual Scarecrow Festival.  While Belinda was making her way to Lewistown for the conference UMW event, Mo and Charles visited the scarecrows.  Lots of fun stuff on display around town!

Belinda's week

Coming together
Belinda was quite busy this week while Charles was in Bozeman with work and church-related activity.

Tuesday and Thursday in particular were spent helping with the church's entry in the Stevensville Scarecrow Festival which begins Oct. 2.

On Friday she joined Charles in Bozeman where she attended an afternoon with other Yellowstone Conference circuit lay leaders. On Saturday she'll be in Lewiston for the annual Conference United Methodist Women's meeting.
