A colorful day

Charles spent some time in the backyard today, applying fresh coats of paint to three pieces and creating a new piece using a used mailbox from the church.

A nice week

We're enjoying pleasant days this spring week as we've gone from a wet weekend to warm, sunny days! We have been spending time each day staying connected to our church family and in taking the opportunity to make the outside of the church look pretty.

We're ready!

We are so very grateful for Belinda's P.E.O. sister, Jan, who delivered these beautiful masks for us to use! (Charles is thrilled with them, especially the one at the top right, which features paint brushes!!!) Yea, God, for dear folks who look out for one another!!!

Happy anniversary, Wesley

2012 - McCamey, Texas
2020 - Boulder, Colorado
It was eight years ago today when Wesley entered our life! He found us just before we left McCamey for San Antonio and has since become an important part of the Alkula household, first in Texas, then in Montana, and now in Colorado!

A job well-done!

We finished the latest project at the parsonage, the spreading of a large amount of dark mulch in the back yard (and a bit in the front!). It was a lot of work, but we did it together!

A lovely surprise!

Belinda's P.E.O. sister, Kathie B., just delivered the group's new yearbook, along with fresh daisies, which Charles planted in the front yard of the parsonage! Yea!!!

Busy days

One of the neighbors stopped by for a visit
Charles heads out on a ride
With staying at home being the order of the day, we've found was to stay busy and engaged. We took delivery of ten yards of mulch today which we took some over to the church and the rest will be going to the parsonage backyard!

Wesley under stay-at-home order

"I'll just wait here, shall I?"
"Wake me when the Zoom meeting is over."
"Will this winter ever end?"
"A lot of foot traffic."
"Nope, I'm good right where I am."
Wesley has largely mastered the ongoing stay-at-home order (except for a brief escape) and has found many places to savor the quiet life on Gillaspie Drive.

A special thought

One of Belinda's PEO sisters dropped off a special thought today at the parsonage as we remembered the anniversary of Mo's passing.

A special anniversary

Today is a special day in our house, the first anniversary of the passing of Belinda's mother, Sheila Hammitt.

Please visit her blog to see more from her story.

Spring cleaning

On Tuesday, we put down about three yards of mulch in the front of the parsonage, giving it a fresh look to show off the flowers that have come up. And on Friday, Charles got into the window wells, clearing out the leaves and washing the windows!
