And yet another Zoom

In addition to the time spent with the virtual P.E.O. International convention this week, Belinda made time to help with the Western Mountains District's UMW annual meeting.

A late September morning in Westminster

Ready to go!
Across the pond
Short, but sweet
The Blue Course beckons
The Front Range is clear this morning

Charles returned to Westminster in the pre-dawn hours to play two of the course at the Greg Mastriona Golf Courses

The par three South Course was up first, perfect to warm up and hone the short game, a respectable 37 was recorded. A stop for coffee and a brief wait, and then it was time to play the Blue Course, a nine hole (par 36). He played with three regulars at the course and shot a very good (for him) 45!

It's P.E.O. week

This week, Belinda has been involved in the 75th Convention of International Chapter of P.E.O., held this year solely via Zoom. It has been a great way to see P.E.O. conducted in a manner that enables her to participate from the comfort of home!

Another exhibition

Charles ventured to north Boulder (NoBo) to do a stint as a volunteer for the NoBo Art District's "Ride On: A Bike Art Exhibition." Charles has a painting included in this exhibition and was happy to see it hanging amdist such a wonderful assortment of works.

Summer bloom

We had a surprise this afternoon, a single rose peeking through a large bush in the front of the parsonage.

A gift of art

We had a visitor from Colorado Springs at the church today, Rev. David Petty (and his son), on hand to help trouble-shoot the church AV equipment. As a thank you, Charles offered a painting of David's choosing.

We continue to get in our fair share of virtual activity recently including today, when Belinda took advantage of the delightful late summer weather to get in the final Zoom meeting of the day!

Doing our part

We did our part today, taking part in the virtual blood drive being held with St. Paul's UMC through Vitalant Blood Services. The staff is really good and we were in and out in no time at all.

The week is underway

An early start

The Front Range is clear today

White Pelicans on a course pond

The world we share

Charles got the "work" week underway very early this morning with a round of golf at the Broadlands Golf Course in Broomfield. The course itself didn't have the wow-factor, but the golf carts did have GPS which made for a fun experience!

A colorful day

Charles was busy today in the studio, completing one painting in the Liturgical Series, outlining a series (for participants in a seminar he participates in), and sprucing up a bike rack at the church.

Twenty years ago...

Twenty years ago, we were living in Jacksonville, North Carolina on September 11, 2001. Belinda was the Acting Safety Manager at Camp Lejeune and Charles was a staff chaplain at the Naval Hospital.

Charles the on-call chaplain that night and was tasked with accompanying the casualty assistance officer at the notification of the death of a young sailor from the nearby town who had been killed at the Pentegon.

Parsonage visitors

PÃ¥ verandan vid havet (2020)
We had a delightful visit today with the Rev. Dawoon Jung (pastor of the Beautiful Boulder Korean Church) and his wife, Yeongmi. Lunch at South Walnut Cafe` and a tour of the parsonage was on the agenda. They liked one of Charles' paintings which he was thrilled to share with them as a gift!

Remembering the summer snow

One year ago today we experienced our first-ever summer snowstorm that downed branches at the parsaonge and throughout the area. See this link for the blog entry from that day.

A quick nine

Charles made a quick drive south to Arvada this morning to get in a round at Stoney Creek Golf Course, an executive-style course (nine holes, mostly par threes). It was a fun way to start his Labor Day activities.

We made use of some delightful summer weather today, power washing the patio and repainting the patio and front porch metal furniture.

Date day

For this week's Date Day, we ventured to nearby Louisville and took a stroll along the pedestrian Main Street. Lunch at Verde made for a delightful morning out! But we had more in mind, a quick drive to north Boulder and it was back to Lucky's Bakery & Creamery for some date day treats!

Fore!

Charles ventured south this morning to get in a round at Indian Tree Golf Course in Arvada. A nice park course made harder by Charles' inconsistent play, it was still a nice outing with beautiful late-summer weather. He capped off the morning with a quick round on the nine hole par-three course Indian Tree offers.
