More art!

Abstract light switch plates
Älven och snigeln (The River and the Snail), 36x36
Charles has begun work on a series of light switch plates that uses his drip method. This is a fun way to scale down his large paintings!

On campus he completed his latest painting, Älven och snigeln (The River and the Snail). The title comes from a musical score by Jean Sibelius.

Cloudy day

We always enjoy seeing low-level clouds passing in front of the mountains.

Winter wonderland

We had just the right amount of snow on Thursday night - Friday morning: just enough to get the snow blower out, not enough to cancel any events.

Back on campus

Charles made a return to campus today for the spring semester at UM. He has a bit of VA money left and decided to take his day-off to work on some large-scale projects.

It's a bit strange not having a studio as he did last year, but he'll do just fine!

Frosty days

The last week has seen lots of fog and chilly temps resulting in the winter wonderland look on College Street

New art at home

Belinda enjoyed getting a screen from Charles this week and has now created a fun piece of art displaying her earrings!

Off to the city

Charles made a trip to Missoula this afternoon to drop off some supplies he'll be using at the School of Art this spring. He can be seen in the top picture loading a scroll (9' x 4.5') that will be the focus of one of his projects. The other picture is a 4'x5' canvas - go big or stay home!

He also dropped two of his sculpture pieces off for tomorrow's one-day exhibit at Wave & Circuit.

Frosty morning

While we've not had much in terms of snow or frigid temps, we have had some delightful scenery to enjoy as this morning's frosty & foggy morning can attest.

Big News!

We finally took Patches into the vet today and got a full-workup done including a tracking chip. We were surprised at the age, about five years old and that he is a SHE!

Patch did very well with the ride in the truck (in a large dog carrier) and recovered quickly and now is back in her igloo on the back deck!

The lights come down

We took advantage of the warm January day to take down the Christmas decorations (on Twelfth Night). As can be seen in the photo, Wesley was exhausted by all the activity!

What snow?

We have had very little snow this winter and what had Christmas Eve is almost all gone!

The year draws to a close

The year closes with a beautiful look
Patch parties hard
We saw the old year out tonight with a quiet night at home. It's been an interesting year to be sure!
