Creative Saturday

Building the scarecrow entry
Latest painting effort
Latest ceramic project ready for the kiln

A rainy Saturday was the backdrop for a creative burst of energy! This morning saw the parsonage garage utilized to create the church entry into next week's Stevensville Scarecrow Festival.

In the afternoon, Charles stopped by the ceramics studio to give some attention to the latest project since he'll be attending clergy meetings next week.

Patch is ready for winter!

Charles was with Patch tonight when our furry child went inside his "igloo" and curled up on the pile of sweaters and the chicken coop heater we have set up. This will be the third winter Patch has chosen our back deck for his winter weather needs!

Missoula surprise

As Charles was returning home from campus this evening he spotted several deer in a yard on 39th St. Stopping for a closer look revealed two large bucks and several does.

Unexpected visitors

While Charles was sitting on the back deck with Patch this evening, as he does each night, a sound could be heard coming from by the fence.

Patch made a low hiss before mounting his hutch where he stared at the steps. Soon enough a Gaze came up the steps and had a snack before noticing Charles sitting there and then they slowly retreated into the night.

Fog is nice!

What a wonderful sight this morning, St. Mary's Peak peeking over the fog! More snow fell this week at the upper elevations and the first freeze in the lower valley is expected tonight!

Look, snow!

It was a welcome sight this morning to see snow atop the Bitterroot and the Sapphire Mountains! The blue sky and absence of smoke was a blessing following the seemingly endless days of heat, smoke and fires we've had.

RAIN!

After a long, smoke-filled summer here in the Bitterroot Valley, we may have turned the page on summer! Rain an cooler temps moved into the area yesterday and rain clouds have replaced smoke much to everyone's joy!!!

We've had quite a week, more smoke from the fires to start the week and now we're looking for snow on the upper peaks (above 6,000 ft.)!

Charles moved into his studio space in the Art School and he is excited to be creating art in a cool setting!

Season opener for the Griz

Tailgating with Bonita & Kathy
Here come the Griz!
The Griz make a goal line stand in the first quarter
Love the band's energy!
Half time with the band!
When Charles was done in the ceramic studio this morning, he wandered over to to football stadium and met Bonita & Jim Ziegler (from Stevi UMC) who are season ticket holders for the Griz games. Lots of fun being with their family and friends.

Charles used his student I.D. to get into the game and watched the first half against Valparaiso and stayed for the Griz band's half-time show.

Listening to  the second half on the way home, Charles heard the call of the final score: Griz 45 Valpo 23
