Halloween Eve eve!

A banana (Natalie Junk from Brookdale Meridian), a green M&M (Belinda), and SpongeBob (Charles) took time this afternoon to spread some Halloween cheer around the church's neighborhood. It was a lot of fun and we met some nice people!

It's birthday week for Belinda!

We're getting a jump-start on Belinda's Friday birthday, announcing to the world with our birthday flag that this week is special!

October snow

Saturday was a delightful autumn day for us and we were able to get a couple of outside tasks done. The next day, the temperature plunged and snow began to fall the early Sunday morning. By the time the snow ended Monday morning we had accumulated just shy of 11" and a temperature of 8°F.

Belinda's contribution to the Conference UMW gathering

Belinda's work as Spiritual Growth Coordinator for the Mountain Sky Conference UMW made a significant contribution to this weekend's annual meeting of the UMW. She led the opening and closing worship and took part in the pre-planning, leadership gathering, and of course, the day-long gathering of women from across our four state Conference.

Wesley hangs about

Wesley has felt ignored this week due in part to the many Zoom meetings that we've been taking part. He does manage to take what comfort he can!

Birthday surprise

What a delightful surprise at the parsonage today! The matriarch of our dear church family stopped by with this lovely birthday present for Belinda: Homemade chocolate covered cookies in a beautifully decorated box! Thanks be to God for kind, loving people who go out of their way to connect with others!

More Zoom

We've both had a lot of Zoom activity this week! It seems as though every day finds us in front of the screen, connecting with others around the country in this virtual world in which we find ourselves!

A first for Charles

Charles had a first this month, a painting of his was included in a show in a museum! One of the art groups he is in, Open Studios, had a show at the Museum of Boulder. The show included pieces from all the group members and was quite diverse in what was on display.

A windy afternoon

The was a lot high winds this afternoon which caused some downed branches at the church and parsonage. Charles got out his trusty chainsaw and made quick work of the mess!

New from the studio

"On Green Mountain"
36x48, acrylic on canvas
Charles created a new painting this week which will be entered into the Boulder Artists Association winter show, "The BAAaaa Show" at the Museum of Boulder.

Two paintings will be entered, a large one which had to be inspired by what is seen around Boulder. A second, smaller piece, still be done, will be inspired by the sheep theme (BAAaaa!).

Charles took his inspiration from the Flatirons, large rock formations that are on the east side of Green Mountain in Colorado's Front Range.

We voted!

We got our Colorado ballots in the mail today and promptly completed them! After walking a couple of blocks to the South Boulder Rec Center and the ballot drop-box, we're excited to have done our bit for our democracy!

A Tall Task

The church Trustees arranged for the big oak tree in our front yard to be trimmed today and it looks so much better! Charles had started the trimming earlier in the summer but as can be seen from these pictures, it took pros to get the job done!

A vigil in Denver

Charles led a public vigil this evening in Denver for the son a friend who died last week. It was a large gathering of friends, family, and colleagues and it was a nice way to send off this young man.
