A living memorial

Autumn Blaze Maple
Belinda's brother, Rob, planted a tree in honor and memory of their mom today, which happened to be Arbor Day.

Planted in the "lower meadow" at the Hammitt's ranch, the "Double H," in Elbert, Colorado. Mo's ashes were placed around the roots of the tree to nourish the growth of this living memorial. Above is the link to the video of Rob spreading her ashes. (And watch the last three seconds of the video very carefully! You'll see a round greenish ball of light dancing around the lower left of the screen. We believe it is Mo's spirit dancing for joy … in harmony with the singing birds.)

Charles is going public!

On Monday, Charles will be part of the Mountain Sky Conference virtual potluck at 5:30pm! Charles was asked to share some of his art, helping those "present" to see a new view of the resurrection. Fill up your plate, turn on zoom and join us for some great kitchen table talk!

Jackpot!

We ventured out today to drop off some donations from our church to a local community feeding program. We also made a stop at Costco where Belinda scored some TP!

More spring snow!

The second significant snowfall this week brought more than 12" of heavy, wet snow to the Front Range. Charles tackled getting it cleared, including off of the dish that provides our tv!

Next up in the studio

Charles has started his next painting, this one is for a national, juried, & virtual show. The theme is “Art in the time of Corona “
BTW, this is just light coming through the window, not necessarily the painting itself!

We've joined the hunt!

We've joined the "teddy bear hunt" fad, with a little bear in one window. We're hoping that Wesley doesn't notice it but that passerby will!

Easter 2020

Easter morning snow
Chancel decorated for Easter
Yesterday was sunny, today...
Easter worship
Easter supper!
Easter 2020 is one we will not soon forget! We had looked forward to our first Easter at St. Paul's UMC, but, like much of the world, we celebrated with our church family in a virtual setting.

Today was also memorable as it snowed all day long! Last week had been in the upper 60s and low 70s but today was a white, wet day!

Belinda prepared a fantastic Easter supper which made our unusual day a festive one!

A lovely spring day

We had a beautiful spring day which gave us the opportunity to read and paint in the backyard. We have so enjoyed the cozy space in which we can relax!

A first for us!

We held our first online worship service this morning for our church. It was such fun, forty-one were "present" including Charles' sister, Jackie (from Missouri), and a cousin, Marti (from Pennsylvania).

Charles has been busy in the studio lately, working on projects for future exhibits and shows. Of course, as with the rest of the world, his art will have to wait until the pandemic lets up and the galleries reopen.

The bunny piece was done for a public space showing that is delayed. The body of the bunny is made from melted candle wax, the guidelines were to show bunnies, be 12x12, and able to displayed outdoors!

"Resurgence" was created for the 2020 Mahlerfest (delayed) which now joins the other two large pieces at R Gallery's "Strange Times" virtual exhibit. The bottom piece was created by Charles at U of M and makes its first public debut!
