Art in the city

Charles' entry was the bottom piece

A busy afternoon at the exhibit

Three of his donated pieces for fire relief

Charles had a stint as a volunteer this afternoon on the final day of the Open Studios exhibit on Pearl Street. He had a painting entered and had donated six small pieces for the art sale for the Marshall Fire relief effort. As he was leaving, he noticed a young boy who was enjoying the show and he ended up giving his painting to the boy.

Tasty treats

We were treated today with two special deliveries today! Our neighbor, Chuck Reynolds, came by with some homemade soup to thank Charles for shoveling their walk this week.

A little bit later, Pastor Dawoon, the pastor of the Korean church which meets at our church, stopped by with two loaves of homemade bread.

The days begin early

Charles goes to the church by 5:30 each Sunday morning and today's subtle sunrise is a reminder that while the days do come early, each one is bright with possibilities.

The Wesley approach to life

There are days when the best answer is to follow Wesley's approach to life: eat, sleep, play, repeat.

Art for free

Charles is offering to give away paintings to anyone affected by the recent Marshall fire.

Go to www.revartcolorado.com and browse the pages. Anything marked with a price is available for no charge for those impacted by the fire. My primary area is abstract paintings (including plastic ornaments and light switch/outlet covers) so there is a wide color palette to choose from. I'm also willing to do special pieces using other colors on request for no charge.

A chilly goodbye

We went to Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver this afternoon where Charles officiated at the inurnment of a member of St. Paul's UMC. We were fortunate to make it home just ahead of the heavy snow that started falling as we were driving north to Boulder.

A nice sight

It was a beautiful sight this morning, seeing snow draped over the Flatirons, the result of the 8.5" we got Friday.

Happy New Year!

Clearing the sidewalk at the church
The day draws to a close

Our New Year got off to a frigid, white start as the badly needed moisture our area needs finally arrived. It was 6°F when Charles got up at 4AM. There was 8.5” on the back of his truck when all was said and done, our first snow since last spring.
