Another busy day

The weekend is here and not a bit too soon! Belinda had another great workday at the hospital's business office. Charles spent his time tending to a funeral for a McCamey United Methodist Church member. It wasn't as hot as it was yesterday; thank goodness! Tomorrow is going to be cool, with a high of around 69. Monday, we're looking at a high of 102!
On Saturday, Belinda's mother comes for Mother's Day and the Mother-daughter dinner put on by our UMW on Monday.

Thursday in McCamey

We had a busy day today - Belinda was hard at work at the hospital business office all day long. She came home at lunch time with a delicious chicken salad one of her co-workers insisted Belinda share with Charles, yum!

Charles spent most of his time today putting the finishing touches on his message for the funeral he is officiating at tomorrow.

In the evening, Belinda helped Bobbie and Bill Lester with the yard at the parsonage. It was hot, dusty work but it looks really great when it is done!!

"Oh, the places you will go!"

It was another hot day in McCamey with temps reaching 99F, still, it was nice to see the vistas so green and inviting. Even the large "M" (for McCamey) has a fresh coat of white paint in time for graduation later this month.

Charles spent a portion of the day in Iraan where the First UMC members were hosting the annual lunch for the high school seniors. We had nearly 50 students, faculty and church members present. Charles read to the seniors Dr. Seuss' book, "Oh, the places you will go!" to an appreciative group.

This evening, Belinda joined the other choir members for rehearsal after another productive day at the hospital. Charles visited with a couple of the church members who are working to rid the church of bats. Always something to do in McCamey!

A Hot Time in McCamey

It was hot day here in McCamey. We were told that it hit 101F. It is a hint of what is to come this summer!

This evening, we spent some time at the Park Building, where Belinda joined the hospital board in presenting information to the public about the new wellness center. It was great to have nearly forty residents come out on a Tuesday evening to hear the latest news.

After a meal with Bobbie & Bill Lester at Elena's, we came home to find Donny Wiley, a member of the FUMC, working with a friend to seal up the church. (We have a bat problem). Sam Stone, who was helping Donny, even had a button in his truck to give to Charles: happy day!

Monday, Monday

It's Monday in west Texas and we are off to a busy week. Charles took this picture on his way back from Rankin where he'd been to a lectionary study group. Texas is beautiful in the springtime, with a mini-heatwave coming this week we're enjoying the nice weather while it is here.

May arrives with the wind!

The start of May in west Texas has been marked with strong winds and beautiful blue sky. We are enjoying the good weather knowing that the heat for which Texas is noted is on its way.

Charles had a treat this morning when we arrived for worship at McCamey. Mary & Jim Witcher had left a button for Charles' collection! Any day with a button is a good day!

Our Sunday consisted of three worship services - Iraan, McCamey, and the McCamey Convalescent Center. Belinda was happy to complete her jig-saw puzzle, a satisfied lady to be sure! We enjoy our time together and now are in for the evening enjoying a much deserved rest!

A quiet Saturday

It was a restful Saturday for us here in McCamey, we needed it as our Sunday's are really packed!

Belinda made use of her rest day to work on a pretty jig-saw puzzle while Charles started a book on preaching. We have been enjoying the wildlife in our backyard. Charles has counted 21 spieces of birds visiting our feeders.
