No rain in McCamey!
It looked all day long like it was going to rain but in the end all we got was more wind! It was nice all the same as we're seeing more flowers blooming at the parsonage.
After Belinda got off work we went to vote in the run-off election being held in Upton County. It is great to live in a small community where people are involved and connected to the people they are voting for.

Our Week is Off and Running!
Our week got off to a busy start today with Belinda beginning her first full week at the McCamey hospital. Charles ran a couple of errands before heading to Iraan and some time sharing in the fellowship provided at the Senior Center.
After his time in Iraan, Charles went to his weekly lectionary study (with the UMC pastors from Crane and Rankin). This evening, we attended the meeting of the United Methodist Women, always a lively group!

Our Sunday
We have had a busy, but tiring day and now we are enjoying a quiet night at home. On our drive to and from Iraan this morning we saw the desert turning green before us, what a beautiful drive it is!
After the two church services and the Care Center service it was time for a rest. Charles watched the final round of the Masters, it couldn't have been more dramatic and of course the scenery is unlike anywhere else!
We were surprised this afternoon to see an albino mourning dove in the back garden (yard), it was so pretty and gave the yard a bit of mystery.

Cleaning up in McCamey
Charles took part in the "Great American Cleanup" today here in McCamey. He tackled a large vacant lot and contributed five bags to the 150 bags collected by the forty volunteers.
Led by the ladies of MOP (McCamey Operation Pride), it was a beautiful morning to be out and about and to be part of such a visible contribution to the community. They were rewarded with a bbq lunch at McCamey's Sante Fe Park. A great day to be in west Texas!
