We're back!

Sometimes we get busy "doing stuff" that we forget to keep up the blog! Here is another recap since last Saturday:

On Saturday morning, Charles spent some time in the morning picking up more trash alongside the highway that runs by the parsonage. Four large bags were picked on Saturday!

Sunday was a full-court press - see the church blogs to find out why!!! Yesterday, Charles went to Iraan for lunch at the Senior Center while Belinda spent some time helping Bill Lester with some admin chores for the McCamey church.

Today was a beautiful day here in west Texas, not nearly as hot as it has been lately (it's below 100 and the sun is still up!). This afternoon, we showed a fellow UMC pastor from Big Lake around the McCamey wellness center.

We actually spotted some clouds in the sky this evening, no rain yet, but at least we have some honest-to-goodness rain somewhere in west Texas!

So far this week...

We've had a busy week thus far and to recap:
On Monday, we rested in the morning before driving to Midland for some errands and lunch at Cracker Barrel! In the evening, we went to watch the proceedings of the McCamey City Council: Very informative!
On Tuesday, Belinda was busy mowing the parsonage yard in the "cool part of the day," very brave of her considering the 95F temp! In the evening, she was off to Bunco! Charles had church chores to tend to which kept him busy all day long.
On Wednesday, Charles drove to Odessa in the morning for an appointment and in the evening to Iraan for a church meeting. Meanwhile, Belinda drove east to San Angelo to visit with her mother.
Today is another hot day in west Texas, not even noon, and it is already 98F!

Belinda's Bunco Fun Tonight!

What a great time Belinda had tonight at the monthly bunco party at the Sante Fe Depot here in McCamey! Thanks to Tommie T, we had loads of great food and fun... hooping and hollering it up! Yea, God!

A civic evening in McCamey

We attended our very first session of the McCamey city council this evening and got a good look at grass-roots democracy in action. A First UMC member, Bill Lester, was there to present some information to the council, and he did a great job!

A Visit to Midland!

We had a great start to our week with a road trip to Midland. We had some errands to run and then made it a really good day for Belinda with a stop at the Cracker Barrel! (She decided against getting the stuffed animal by the way!)

Our Week Comes to a Close...

We are resting up after another hot week in west Texas. Belinda went to visit her mother in San Angelo for a few days, while Charles tended to church activities.

Tomorrow we will begin again ... with a full schedule of Sunday church activities.

Road trip to Crane

We took a break this afternoon for a road trip with Bill & Bobbie Lester to Crane, where we enjoyed lunch at the Crane Pharmacy lunch counter. It is a cute place with lots of charm!
