The backyard is really done!

Charles had a burst of energy this afternoon and tackled the last of the backyard projects, the corner by the garage.  It looks so good and we'll be able to enjoy our outdoor living space for years to come!

We can see clearly now!

"A" is for Alkula!

After a wonderful time of study, worship and fellowship at the church, we treated ourselves to a nice brunch at the Frontier Cafe.  This local favorite is the place for United Methodists to congregate for a mid-day meal!  Since the coming weeks will be chock-full of activities, it was nice to be able to catch our breath before launching into the coming flurry of events!

We joined the community in celebrating the fifteenth anniversary of the Burnt Fork Vet Clinic.  Dr. Linda K., a Stevi UMC member, invited the community to a party at the clinic this afternoon.  It was a wonderful time of good food, music and celebration!

Backyard work complete!

The new-look backyard!
Cleaned-up and on display in the backyard
Charles took advantage of an remarkable change in weather to get some additional work done in the back yard.

Yesterday was very hot with a strong south wind which made it much too unpleasant to do any outside work.  Today was a big change with the temps only reaching the upper 70s - low 80s.  The downside was the smoke brought in from Washington state which made for hazzy working conditions.

The result of the effort was to clear out the bed along the north fence and make it presentable.  It has been a lot of work to get the yard looking nice but it is well-worth it!

Summer evening in the backyard

We are enjoying our back garden which is coming along quite nicely!  The vegetables and herbs are looking great and the blackberries along the fence are showing signs of a good harvest to come!
