First round of 2022

Charles took advantage of some amazing spring weather to get in his first round of golf since last December this afternoon at Indian Peaks Golf Course.

We're back!

Smoke from yesterday's fire obscures the base of the Flatirons
(NCAR is on the middle/right edge in this photo)

We are back home this morning following yesterday's mandatory evacuation from our south Boulder neighborhood.

Favorable weather conditions including lower than expected winds and higher humidity overnight allowed for us to return home in time to offer worship via Zoom from Charles' office at the church.

The County reported this morning that the fire was 21% contained and that there have been no injuries or structures lost.

An particularly unusual day

This morning at Wesley Foundation

Fire developing along the Front Range

Our morning began at the Wesley Foundation at CU and a presentation by J.J. Warren. Belinda is on the Foundation board and was involved in all phases of the event.

We hadn't been home long when we were told by church members of the mandatory evacuation under way in south Boulder, including our neighborhood! So, a whirl of activity ensued and we soon found ourselves settling into a hotel (along with Wesley) for the night. Who know what tomorrow may bring!

Signs of spring

Charles noticed some color at the parsonage this morning, the sure sign of spring making its presence known at the parsonage!

A small piece from the studio

Skogsrået (The Wood Nymph) - 8x8, candle wax on wood panel

Charles created a small piece for an upcoming exhibit here in Boulder yesterday. He has fun using old church candles to make pieces that are quite organic in nature. The title of the piece, Skogsrået (The Wood Nymph), comes from a Sibelius piece.

A busy week with P.E.O.

While Charles was in Cheyenne this week with the Board of Ordained Ministry, Belinda was busy with many activities including two events with her P.E.O. sisters: An Irish Tea and a "Puppy Shower"!

Afternoon in Cheyenne

Charles likes to make the best use of his time away from home, seeing and doing things he can't do locally. After his afternoon BOM session ended today, he decided to take in the Cheyenne Botanic Gardens

Given the time of day and the approaching rain, he didn't see everything that was outside, but the main building was quite nice!
