Charles ventured away from Albert Lea today, bound for Schuyler, Nebraska and the 5-day Academy for Spiritual Formation (which starts Sunday).
Along the way across southern Minnesota, he spotted an interesting historical marker (where I-90 was completed), played nine holes at Hidden Valley Golf Course (Brandon, SD), and after meandering across northeast Nebraska, he paid a brief visit to Osmond, Nebraska (site of his first parish).

A nice touch in the backyard
We had taken lilies to the Thorne Crest chapel last week, and today, Charles planted them in front of our backyard shed. Hopefully they will thrive for a long time!
Almost ready
We have been doing a lot of work in the basement, getting ready for the installation of the sump pump next week. Today, Charles took the last of the wood shelving to the transfer station!
