Christmas with the Alkulas

Happy birthday to Charles
Not a real fire, but it looks nice!
Red pickup from Sandy and Charles' mom

The box contained gifts from our church family

Wesley keeps an eye on the festivities

Our second Christmas in Albert Lea was a quiet one at home which is just what we needed! Sleeping late, stocking and gifts from the church family opened, and dinner at Perkins made for a wonderful day.

Christmas Eve in Glenville

Our Christmas Eve service in Glenville was a special time of fellowship and worship.

Another pageant "in the bag"

Our Christmas Eve service at Thorne Crest featured the "Christmas Pageant in-a-bag" which was well-received by the community.

Winter is here!

We had a wonderful morning in Glenville with the congregation enjoying the "Christmas Pageant in-a-bag!" We were also gifted with a beautiful quilt made by Nancy B., a member of the church.

An Angel at Walmart

A tree in the Health Care Wing Craft Room

Yesterday, Charles went to Walmart to pick up gifts for some of the residents at Thorne Crest who don't have anyone to give them something for Christmas. As he was checking out, he chatted with the guy behind him in line. The person commented that it looked like I was buying a lot of gifts. Charles said since my wife and I don't have kids, we decided to buy gifts for some of the residents where he worked. When he went to pay, the man reached around Charles and put his credit card in and paid for everything!

Christmas comes to Albert Lea

Getting into the spirit of Christmas

Hot cocoa on a cold night

Santa & Mrs. Claus greet an admirer

A reindeer takes a break from the action

The Albert Lea Christmas Bazaar took place tonight downtown and we were able to take in a little bit of it. Lots of energy along Broadway despite the very cold weather and slippery roads and sidewalks!

Fun time in Albert Lea!

We joined members and friends of the Glenville UMC's United Women in Faith for a December lunch out at Pizza Ranch. The highlight was a fun-filled melodrama with lots of laughter and fellowship filling the time together!
