We had rain!

It rains in Texas!
Mug and 'Fair-trade' coffee from Zion Lutheran
Fresh bread from the friendly folk at Helotes Hills UMC!

This being our first Sunday officially out of the parish, we just had to take advantage of the many wonderful churches in this area! We worshipped twice this morning, first at Zion Lutheran Church (an ELCA congregation) and then at Helotes Hills UMC. We really enjoyed both services and know we'll be back again!

We actually forgot the camera this morning (gasp!), so don't have pictures of the churches other than the very nice gifts given to guests at both churches. Zion Lutheran presents guests with a nice coffee mug and some "Fair-trade" coffee which Charles will be enjoying.  Helotes Hills UMC gives guests a delicious loaf of home-made bread!

A bite to eat at a surprising-good Chinese restaurant, the Mekong Garden which regularly wins awards for their food, and it lived up to its billing. Then it was back home so Charles could enjoy the live final of Euro 2012 between Italy and Spain from Kiev, Ukraine (Spain won its second successive Euro Cup with an easy 4-0 rout of the Italians).

As we were returning home, we had one of those rare events in a Texas summer: rain! It didn't last long, but we'll take whatever we can get.
