We had a delightful visit this afternoon with Natalie Junk, a staff member at the Brookdale Meridian (just down the street from us). Turns out that her sister, Kerri Sheldon, who was a member of our church in Sidney, Nebraska, was visiting and Natalie brought her along! Kerri remembered Charles' button collection and thoughtfully added to his tally today!

Another chore in the books
Charles completed another project at the church this week, edging around the sidewalk, giving the church a finished look.
The next day, he turned his eyes to the next big effort, the cleanup of the approach to the Mary Sandoe House. This is along a sidewalk that is on the north side of our parking lot, leading to the facility that occupies a corner of our property.

It's an artistic Saturday
"Ordinalis" 48x60, acrylic on canvas |
"The Flatirons aren't flat," 20x20, acrylic on canvas |
Charles wrapped up a large painting this week, the first in a series of large (48x60) paintings that will come from the seasons of the liturgical year. Ordinalis (Latin ordinalis, adjective formed from noun ordo, order, + adjective suffix -alis, all) speaks to the weeks that are numbered after Pentecost.
The other painting, "The Flatirons aren't flat," was begun Saturday, and will be entered into a call for art at R Gallery in Boulder (The theme is "Mountains, Peaks, and Waterfalls").

Hot days in Boulder
The front of the house gets a makeover |
Belinda has a Zoom chat in the studio |
We never know where Wesley will hang out |
It has been a hot week here in Boulder with daily temps over 90°. We've managed to stay cool at home with daily Zoom meetings and time spent in the studio working on several projects. Charles has spent several mornings, trying to beat the heat, continuing the painting of the parsonage.

A new project
Charles decided to begin a new project this morning: the painting of the outside of the parsonage! He began by painting the posts on the front porch in the bold colors we have throughout the back garden. The remainder of the painting will be a freshening up of the current color.
