A short game

Haystack Mountain lurks behind the trees |
Left Hand Creek meanders through the trees |
Charles set out for Niwot this morning to get in some golf at Haystack Mountain Golf Course. This is a short, nine hole course, laid out in a links format. He learned from the staff that the course is due to be closed at the end of August and turned into a subdivision.
Not a particularly special course in itself, but the location has historic relevance as the camp site of Niwot/Left Hand, leader of an Arapahoe band that were eventually killed at the Sand Creek Massacre.
Flowers are coming up
The flowers at the parsonage have been slowly blooming this week and we have really enjoyed the burst of color!

Color in the studio
Charles continues to find time in the studio to be most enjoyable with two paintings being completed this week. Well, actually both had already been painted but Charles wasn't entirely happy with the look of the two, so this week he made some adjustments and is pleased with the results.
36x48, Acrylic and charcoal on canvas
"The city wall’s foundations were decorated with every kind of jewel. The first foundation was jasper, the second was sapphire, the third was chalcedony, and the fourth was emerald. The fifth was sardonyx, the sixth was carnelian, the seventh was chrysolite, and the eighth was beryl. The ninth was topaz, the tenth was chrysoprase, the eleventh was jacinth, and the twelfth was amethyst." - Revelation 21:19-20
