A day at the State Fair

Sixteen years after our last visit, we made the drive to St. Paul today and had an afternoon at the Minnesota State Fair.

We began the day by day by dropping of the pickup at a body shop in Faribault to see about some work that needed done following an accident in the Thorne Crest garage on Monday. Securing a rental car (thanks to USAA insurance), we had quite the task to find a parking place and shuttle to the fairgrounds.

Eventually, we arrived at our destination with the first order of business being lunch at the Hamline UMC dining venue. We were sure to visit the Dairy Building to see the butter carving for the Princess Kay of the Milky Way display and were happy for Charles to get an assortment of buttons.

Supper on the way home in Faribault gave us the energy to make it back to Albert Lea before dark!
