Charles made a quick stop at the Lee Metcalf Wildlife Refuge this week to see how the high waters of the Bitterroot River were looking. There is an abundance of evidence of the heavy snow melt has had - from the full ponds, sloughs, and washed out walkway.

Wesley's Monday
Wesley had a most interesting day - somehow he slipped unnoticed into the guest bathroom (normally kept closed) and wasn't noticed until we came home in the afternoon. As a reward he was taken outdoors even though there was a hint of rain in the mountains. He loves frolicking in the lush lawn and wondering if there are any birds to play with!

This afternoon was given to the home-front. A long-standing practice of ours is to take money received from Charles' officiating at funerals and putting it into the parsonage. This afternoon Charles put some of those funds into planting honeysuckle vines along the fence (where the hops vines are just starting to show). He also began clearing the rest of the fence line for more vines. There was a great sale at a local nursery that made all of this possible.
Belinda was not to be outdone outdoors today as she tackled the lawn mowing chores this morning, while enjoying the cool temps (mid-50s). Even Wesley got into the act, supervising Charles' efforts at gardening and keeping an eye on the neighborhood cats!
Tomorrow is Trinity Sunday and we are so looking forward to being with our church family!

Easing into Summer
The calendar indicates that summer is still three weeks away but the weather we're enjoying this week in the Bitterroot Valley says summer is already here!
We try to take Wesley out for a bit of a romp in the evening and lately we've taken to sitting in the shade of the apple tree (keeps him from climbing up and onto the roof!). We are enjoying our back garden and know that Wesley does too!!
