Advent... The West-Texas-Way!

Yesterday was a fun day in west Texas, y'all! Folks are really getting in to the holiday spirit with their decorations and activities.
---------------------------
Belinda and Charles visited the nearby convalescent center for the weekly coffee, donuts and newspapers gathering with townfolk and some of the residents. Belinda surprised them with her new set of color-coded bells, so they could have an impromptu handbell choir practice. After a short practice, they decided they were ready to start planning their 2011 concert tour schedule. Some of the venues discussed were ... Paris (Texas), Midland, Dallas... and the farther afield locations of Cincinatti and Oregon. Everybody needs to stay alert for our road-tour announcement next spring!
------------------------------
After driving to San Angelo, a visit to the downtown Eggemeyer's General Store was a must! It is always so much fun to shop in the downtown stores.
------------------------------
The San Angelo District of the United Methodist Church had its annual open house starting at 4:00 p.m., so that was the place to be in the late afternoon. A wonderful man makes legendary pecan pralines every year... to everyone's delight! Belinda just had to have her photo taken with him... AND the praline. (It was even better than she remembers the one from last year! Yee-haw!)
------------------------------
Belinda's mama was happy to see them at the end of the day. They got in a good visit!
------------------------------
Praise God for a beautiful day!!!
