Belinda meets up with Gail Moshier (a SUMC member)
Today was a busy day for us.

Belinda made two batches of cranberry and orange scones for the morning's Bible study.  She assisted three other ladies in preparing the church's August newsletter for mailing.  Then Belinda attended the Wednesday morning Bible study that Charles led.

This evening, Charles and Belinda attended the Stevensville Civic Club's Garden Party where annual community awards were awarded.  What a great event!

And now we're enjoying a relaxing evening with Wesley.  We are really looking forward to this weekend's Creamery Days here in Stevensville!

More sights from our drive

Lochsa River in Idaho
Very impressive cyclists on the road
Friendly deer
No moose were seen, but we looked!
What a blessing today was!  It was such a delight to take the drive up the pass and to see a bit more of this corner of the world!

A visit in the woods

On the Lochsa River
One big tree!
"Have you hugged a tree today?"
On our way back to Stevensville we stopped to view the DeVoto Memorial Cedar Grove.  The trees were absolutely amazing!

An afternoon drive in the mountains

We had quite the adventure today following some appointments in Missoula.  On the way back we decided to take a little drive up US 12 and see the sights.  We drove up to the Lolo pass, on the Idaho-Montana border and then drove a few miles farther into Idaho and enjoyed lunch at the Lochsa Lodge.

Remembering Belinda's Uncle Bob

and Kyle in the foreground
This photo was taken in Uncle Bob's back garden in the summer of 2006, during the World Cup.  Belinda's brother Rob and his family were visiting England for a couple of weeks.  Charles was a Navy chaplain stationed in southwestern England during that time.  Everyone converged at Uncle Bob's home just outside of London.

Rob's family gave Uncle Bob a special England shirt folks were wearing during the World Cup games.  He is proudly wearing it in this photo.  This time spent together is a treasured memory of Belinda's family who were present that day.  Praise be to God for the gift of that day for Belinda's family!

All is at rest

A delightful Saturday has drawn to a close.  After the busy morning in Hamilton we enjoyed a quiet afternoon at home. This evening, we ventured outdoors for a walk around our neighborhood as it had cooled down enough for us! We are so blessed to have such a magnificent vista just beyond the trees.

Daly Days - part 3

We ended our morning in Hamilton by taking a peak at the grounds of the Daly Mansion.  We decided to return and spend more time inside the mansion, but if the grounds are any indication, the house must be truly spectacular!

Daly Days - part 2

After Main Street, we made our way to the Art in the Park and the Hamilton Farmer's Market.  There was so many beautiful items in the Legion Park, one vendor in particular had the most amazing wood art, stunning!  In the farmer's market we were tempted many times, choosing some huckleberry honey as our treat.

Daly Days - part 1

a pair of 1955 beauties!
Chalk art event
We made our way to Hamilton to enjoy some of the sights and sounds of the Daly Days celebration.  This annual event commemorates the influence of Montana copper baron, Marcus Daly.

We started off taking in the street fair on Main Street including the Bitterrooters Car Club show and the nifty shops in the downtown area.

A hazy night in Stevensville

Native flowers
Counting the days!
The sign of the season
Out for an evening stroll
Friday night in Stevensville
Tonight we set out shortly after supper for a short walk-about town.  The smoke from the wildfires from across the mountains in Idaho made for pretty hazy conditions tonight, so we decided to make our first foray together on the walking path a short one.

Good stuff in Stevensville!

Bulk food for the community food bank
Lunch at the senior center

WOW!
We've had a busy week and the good things keep happening here in Stevensville!

A delightful Bible study at a church member's home in the morning was followed by a delivery to the community food pantry.  Then it was off to the Senior Center for lunch with two of our wonderful members.

One never knows where good things will appear in Stevensville and waiting at the parsonage door when we got back from lunch was a home-made treat from Arlene Halfhide, a Stevi UMC member.  What a wonderful example of hospitality!!
