Belinda's Furlough

Charles left home on Wednesday morning to attend a clergy session in Bozeman.  After that, he planned to travel to Helena, to attend a special lecture series at the St. Paul UMC in Helena.

While Charles has been away, Belinda has enjoyed some relaxing time at home with Wesley the parsonage kitty cat.   -- And --

Wednesday:  She really enjoyed spending time with the Wednesday morning "Wired Word" Bible study at the church and the follow-on lunch at the Morning Brew.  Afterwards, she visited with Mary C. and her two sweet doggies and two lovely cats at her ranch.

Thursday:  She enjoyed working with Ginny M. and Trudy F., as they activated the church's prayer chain, asking for blankets, towels and prayers for the homeless in and around Missoula.  (Note:  Within 24 hours, a dozen blankets and a dozen towels were delivered to the shelter -- thanks to the very generous contributions of some of our church members.  If more are donated on Sunday, someone will deliver them on Monday.)

Friday morning was a treat:  Belinda participated in the Bible study that Trudy F. led at Ms. Doris' home near the church.  Afterwards, a few folks congregated at the local Senior Center for a fabulous lunch of home-made soup (choice between cream of mushroom and cream of tomato) and other delectable goodies!  It was cold today in Stevensville, so hot soup was a "spot-on" choice for lunch!

Friday afternoon:  Belinda shopped in Missoula.  A quick trip to the Goodwill store netted another blanket for the homeless shelter's use.  And a few other items were purchased there, as well.  The people who helped Belinda unload her car at the shelter were so happy to see those blankets and towels!  It was a heart-warming experience to deliver these much-needed items into the hands of those who would be using them later in the day!

Friday night:  Belinda enjoyed the library's "first Friday" event which included a band of accordion players and friends.  What a delightful group it is!  Afterwards, Belinda toured the walking path's vast array of scarecrow entries.  This year's scarecrow festival (an annual event) was so much fun!

Tomorrow, Belinda will help a couple of ladies host a funeral reception meal in the church's fellowship hall.

Charles is expected back home tomorrow (Saturday) late afternoon.

Thanks be to God for a lovely few days at home!
