Our Sunday in west Texas

What a busy week we've had! Since last weekend when we were worshipping in Roscoe, we've been unpacking and settling into our new home here in McCamey.

Today was our first Sunday with the United Methodist Churches in Iraan and McCamey. Amazingly, we were so busy and excited we didn't take a single picture!

The drive to Iraan for the first service, at 9:30, was beautiful with the sun striking the fog resting on the buttes. It was a great service and we are so glad to have had such a good beginning with the congregation. We couldn't stay long with the folks after the service as we had to rush back to McCamey for the second service at 11:00. In McCamey we enjoyed another warm welcome and the service was a real blessing.

After the service we were invited to lunch at Benoit's, another of McCamey's family restaurants. It is such a great feeling to be welcomed like this. After that, we went to visit some of the residents at the Extended Care Facility here in town.

What a great start to our time in west Texas. Come back and see pictures as they become available!
