A beautiful day in west Texas!

It was a full day for us here in west Texas!

We began the morning with Belinda spotting two large white-tailed deer just behind the church in the early morning light.

It was soon time for us to drive to Iraan and the worship service at First UMC. We had a wonderful time with this community of faith. It is so nice to be with people who want to be together like this.

We drove back to McCamey and were really excited to see so many ready to worship! There is a good feeling in that congregation, and the future is bright here in McCamey!

In the early afternoon, we went to the McCamey Care Center for the weekly chapel service. There was a good turn-out by the residents, and we were happy to share the Word with them. Charles also enjoyed meeting the head nurse's little dog who serves as the center mascot.

The day came to a satifying conclusion with a "pounding" at the parsonage. The congregation from McCamey came together and brought us a wonderful assortment of food and household items. ("Pounding" is a term associated with giving a pound of sugar and a pound of flour, etc.) In the second picture above, Belinda can be seen holding two jars of homemade grape jelly/jam.

Thanks be to God for these wonderful, loving, generous folks!
