McCamey Chamber of Commerce Dinner

Our introduction to west Texas continued tonight with our attending the McCamey Chamber of Commerce's annual banquet. Charles had been asked to offer the invocation for the gathering and was honored to be invited.

In addition to meeting many of the community business owners and others, we were able to greet a number of church members from the UMC here in McCamey.

The speaker tonight was from a San Angelo-based firm that is seeking to make a movie based on the book by a local author, Elmer Kelton. Mr. Kelton, who died last year, is considered by many to be the finest western-themed writer. The book, The Time it Never Rained, is said to be his best work.

What a fun time we had!
