Wild Rice Days in McGregor, MN

After the long day yesterday, it was amazing that we had the energy to travel to downtown Aitkin this morning to join our friends Judy & Leon and go to the annual "Wild Rice Days" in the village of McGregor, just northeast of Aitkin. Unfortunately, Judy and Leon couldn't go with us, so we ventured out on our own.

McGregor has a population of 404 people, and it looked as though everyone of them had a hand in greeting and serving the throngs that took part in the festivities. We missed the parade, but the antique car show, church bazzars and crafts of every sort more than made the trip worth while. We got to eat lunch at the McGregor United Methodist Church, and it was wonderful. These folks really do hospitality right!
