Wonderful Welcome at Women's Retreat in Iraan!

The First Baptist Church in Iraan sponsored its 16th annual women's retreat this weekend. Beginning on Friday evening, about 72 women gathered at the Iraan Civic Center and were welcomed by Becky Wright, the wife of Pastor Mike Wright (First Baptist Church - Iraan). Praise be to God for Pastor Mike and Becky Wright, whose love and commitment to serving the Lord and His children are reflected in everything they do. Their witness, in not just Iraan, but everywhere they go, is a shining example of what Christian Love is all about!

While the group was made up of mostly women from various area Baptist churches, there were also women from other Christian denominations who had been invited and were made to feel very welcome. It really was an ecumenical event. Praise be to God for Christians who joyfully gather in His name to enjoy fellowship and retreat together!

P.S. It must be said that the times we gathered at the civic center to enjoy one another's company and to eat with one another were made special for a lot of reasons! The way the civic center had been decorated was so inviting. It was obvious that loving hands had prepared the delicious food we enjoyed. And the food was served by young people with joy-filled spirits. All of us really appreciated the beautiful giftbag-totes and the table decorations that had been so lovingly placed for us to enjoy. There was even a table for women who were selling lovely hand-crafted jewelry/night-lights and tote bags made from plastic bags from grocery stores. (Some women are so clever!)
