We began Charles' month of renewal leave with a visit to the grand opening of Voodoo Donut's new Colorado location here in Boulder. We decided that even though we are not big donut eaters, this was an event and a fun way to start a month of rest and renewal! There were several hundred people lined up to get the fanciful fare offered in the famous pink boxes and we got ours too!

After dropping off our Voodoo Donut treasures at the parsonage, we treated ourselves to lunch at Doug's Diner (under new management) which was a nice way to continue the tasty start to Charles' renewal leave. 

Next up was a visit to the local branch of the Boulder Library, about 1/2 mile from the house. We haven't been there since we moved to here due to the chaotic first summer in Boulder which was followed by the pandemic. So we were happy to be able to get back into the reading habit with selections that are lighter than what we normally enjoy.
