Charles was thrilled to have a package to pick up yesterday and what a treat it was! Inside were thirty buttons for his collection sent by former parishioner in Sidney, Nebraska, Russ & Lucy Stickley. Charles says any day with buttons is a good day, twenty-nine unexpected buttons is a really good day!
We've been enjoying our backyard visitors with at least a dozen species stopping by on any given day. Today we spotted a Rufous Hummingbird by a heather bush in our backyard. We saw a Black-chinned Hummingbird yesterday and a Yellow-headed Blackbird this evening. What fun! (Note: If you want a special treat, you can travel to Christoval -- to enjoy the Hummer House. It is a great place to visit and see some amazing humming birds.)
