With the temperature cooling down this evening (currently at 95F), we are gearing down after a busy, hot day in west Texas. There is a lot of activity in McCamey. It looks like the work has begun on the Veterans' Memorial, which will be a nice addition to the community when it is finished.
This afternoon, Charles spent time supporting the Lions Club's annual "broom" sale. He enjoyed spending time meeting residents who came by the post office for their mail and then stayed for some shopping. (We don't get home delivery in McCamey.) The gentleman who was in charge of the event had a pet African Grey parrot who kept everyone entertained.
