A Restful Saturday

Yesterday was a very busy day for both of us! Charles was called early in the morning to the home of a church member whose husband had passed away during the night. While Charles was tending to the family's needs, Belinda was hard at work, preparing for the opening of the town's new Wellness Center.

Today we started off slowly. Charles was invited by Donny Wiley (a FUMC - McCamey member) to go golfing at McCamey's local course. Even though Charles hadn't played in several months, he felt he gave a good account of himself, shooting an 84 (on the par 71 course)!

Donny and Charles enjoyed seeing some of the local wildlife, including a jackrabbit which looked like a German shepherd when it darted across the fairway in front of us! We also were surprised to spot a horned frog by the golf cart, as we were teeing off. The horned frog is the mascot of Texas Christian University (where Charles earned his bachelor's degree), so it was a thrill for him to see a horned frog in the wild.

As happy as Charles was to go golfing, Belinda was equally thrilled to have a quiet day at home! She has been working so hard that she deserves a day just "chilling." This afternoon, Charles spent time with the family going over the funeral service, which will be on Monday at 11:00 a.m.
