Portland, day 4 (pt. 2)

Following worship, Charles visited two wonderful museums: the Portland Art Museum (PAM) and the Oregon Historical Museum.

Water Lilies by Monet & The Masseuse by Degas
PAM has everything one could ask for in a museum and so much more!  Charles particularly enjoyed seeing art he had studied recently at UMT and in seeing some new things as well.  PAM's collection ranges from ancient Native American pieces to large-scale sculpture, from Impressionism from Monet and Renoir to the latest works being conceived by the likes of Jasper Johns and others.  SO much to see, it is a must-see on each and every visit to this charming city.

Across from the park from PAM is the Oregon Historical Society Museum and it is certainly one of the best, if not the best look at the history of a state Charles has seen!
