Portland, day 6 (pt. 1)

At the Glyph Cafe`
Charles' last full day in Portland got off to a slow, but restful start before Charles headed out, crisscrossing the city, checking off places to visit as he went.

As he was making his way by streetcar to his first destination of the day, he passed by Pioneer Square where "The Beat Goes On" was offering a mid-day concert.  Always interested in musical offerings, Charles hopped off and enjoyed part of the show.  The band sounded really good and even had majorettes and flags.  They were the best marching unit in last Saturday's Starlight Parade!!!
The next stop was the Portland Institute for Contemporary Art (PICA).  There was an installation of a work by Andrea Geyer titled, "Three Chants Modern," a visual/film work that was most intriguing.

A lite lunch at Glyph was in store next (before the next museum) where Charles had one of the best grilled cheese sandwiches anywhere (outside of Wisconsin)!
