Catching the light rail into the city, he made his way to the Oregon Zoo to see the this well-regarded facility. The zoo is known for its ground-breaking work with Asian Elephants and it is expanding the facilities to work with these beautiful creatures.
Unfortunately the aviary was being worked on so that was not available but there was plenty else to see!
