A beautiful day unfolded on Florida's Suncoast today - what a treat to be able to spend time in such a place!
We went to church this morning at Union Street United Methodist Church (where Charles' mother attends) and had a wondeful time worshipping with these good people. This morning was the Christmas Cantata, offered by the chancel choir. It was a treat to hear the result of all the effort that went into the music.
In the afternoon, we drove to Largo (where Charles grew up) and saw many of the places Charles associated with his youth. We visited the Alkula family home, Largo Sr. High School and much more. We also were able to connect with Charles' Aunt Betty and Cousin Larry who live in Largo. It was great to catch-up with family, and we really enjoyed Aunt Betty's freshly baked Christmas cookies!
In the evening, we drove up to see Charles' brother Joe and his wife Jody (and their four foster children). We went with them to a nearby Cracker Barrel, much to Belinda's delight! We had a great visit, and it was a real pleasure to see how nice the young children were in their first foray into public dining.
