We left Joplin, Missouri this morning, bound for Texas! It was a beautiful day to be driving and the change of scenery from the rolling hills of Missouri to the flat country of eastern Oklahoma was striking.
We ate lunch at a wonderful Mexican restaurant in McAlester, OK, Adelitas, which has some of the best food! Even the chips, served in every Mexican restaurant, left us searching for adjectives to describe just how good they were.
Still in Oklahoma, we stopped in Muskogee, Oklahoma, made famous in the song by Merle Haggard, "Okie from Muskogee." It was fun to seesome of the two dozen decorated guitars placed around the city by city businesses which had decorated the guitars with colorful designs.
Arriving at last in Texas, we made our way to Dallas where we are spending the night. We got to meet up with friends, Joan and Jen, for supper at a fun restaurant, Genghis Grill. It was a lot of fun getting caught up since our last get-together when Joan and Jen came to visit us in Cornwall.
