Greetings from North Carolina!

It was a wonderful day, on the road with Charles (aka, "Waldo") First up this morning was a visit to the Abbey of Gethesemani (just east of Elizabethtown, KY). Charles had such a refreshing visit; he wants to return again and again to this oasis of calm!

Heading south, Charles made several stops on his way to his destination in North Carolina, including the civil war battlefield at Perrysville and the Lincoln home county in Springfield, Kentucky.

A surprise was found a bit farther south when Charles discovered the hometown of Colonel Sanders (Corbin, KY)! Not one to pass up such culinary history, a bit of chicken was eaten in the Colonel's honor!

In the early evening, Charles made his way to Lake Junaluska (NC) where he'll be attending seminars over the next two weeks.
