Our Sunday in San Angelo

First UMC - San Angelo

We went to church this morning at the First UMC of San Angelo, accepting the invitation of Don & Alta (fellow residents of Rio Concho West) to attend church with them. It was a lovely service, and we extended the time with Don and Arva (and their daughter, Cindy) by joining them for lunch at the sister facility of Rio Concho West, Rio Concho Manor (along the Concho River in San Angelo).

In the afternoon, Charles ventured out and found the abandoned courthouse for Tom Green County in the hamlet of Ben Ficklin (just west of modern San Angelo). He also discovered the Barnhardt Cowboy Methodist Church in another hamlet just to the west of San Angelo.

Today is much cooler than it has been over the past few days, only upper 80's, so we're enjoying it while it lasts!
