Wonderful Saturday in San Angelo

WOW! The weather couldn't be better today in San Angelo with temps only in the mid-90s (which is a lot better than 100+). Charles took advantage of the cool morning (mid-80s) to go for a bike ride of just over 16.5 miles, slowly but surely building back endurance and dropping those extra pounds!

After he got back to Mo's home, Charles changed and made his way to the 21st Annual Mustang & Classic Car show in San Angelo. While he is not really car-buff sort of guy, Charles still enjoyed seeing the amazing detail the owners lavish on their "hobbies." One of the 1966 Mustangs had the original window sticker on it with a retail price of $3,250.11 (a 1975 Lincoln Continental was for sale with only 13,600 miles - asking price was $12,900!).

For lunch, Charles discovered one of San Angelo's hidden culinary gems, "El hit de Oro" (The Golden Hit). This little mom-n-pop restaurant serves authentic Puerto Rican food with grandma overseeing the seating area and momma cooking and serving the food. You've never had pulett pork and rice-n-pigeon peas as good as they serve there!!!
