On the Road with Charles - Day 1

Charles set out this morning, bound for North Carolina! Before all was said and done, he had some things worth blogging about! The first stop of the day was just outside of Fort Worth, Charles' old stomping ground (from his days at TCU). In honor of Belinda, he stopped at a Cracker Barrel and called her to share the experience.

Later in the afternoon, just outside of Greenville, Texas, a sign was spotted announcing "Mary of Puddin' Hill Chocolate" and Charles figured with a name like that he just had to stop and see what the fuss was all about. What a fun place to visit and oh, so dangerous to the waistline!

Nearby by was the Audie Murphy/American Cotton Museum which is well-worth the stop. Murphy, is one of the the most decorated American soldiers ever to serve his country. Turns out that Murphy is from Hunt County, Texas, and the museum tells his story and those of several other people of note from this and other surrounding communities.

After crossing into Arkansas, Charles ran into some heavy rain which made the last bit of driving a bit of a challenge. Now in for the night outside Little Rock, it has been a long day. Stay tuned for the next chapter!
