We had a hectic day from soup to nuts. Belinda didn't have a pedometer on at work today, but if she had it would have melted! With the grand opening of the wellness center a mere five days away, the center is humming with activity. And the staff has been running full-throttle to get things done in time.

Charles spent time at the convalescent center this morning visiting with residents and staff, before heading to Odessa to visit more church members in the hospital. On his way to Odessa, one of the car's tires went flat, and changing a tire on a hot Texas afternoon wasn't much fun for Charles. But on his way home, he stopped to enjoy the scene just minutes from downtown Odessa. There by the roadside was a praire dog village with black-tailed praire dogs as well as some burrowing owls. This really made Charles' afternoon!

After Belinda got off work, we ventured to Elena's for the best burger available in these parts. We spotted several church members, including Jim and Mary Witcher. Jim was one of the people interviewed for yesterday's "Under the West Texas Skies" television news report about McCamey. In fact, four of the people interviewed were connected with the First UMC, not bad!
