A very busy Sunday, part 2

A quick cup of tea at home following the convalescent center worship and then we joined Bobbie & Bill Lester and Jim & Mary Witcher for the drive to Midland. Bobbie's brother, the Rev. Derrell Patterson, was being installed as the district superintendent for the Big Spring District of the North Texas Conference (of the United Methodist Church). It was wonderful for us to be able to share in this significant moment. The service was held at the First UMC in Midland, a church that was simply beautiful and welcoming in every respect.
-------------------------
In the "It's a small world department," we met Kerry Kay Cook, a former resident of Iraan who just happened to have been in Iraan over the weekend! It also turns out the Ronnie Ward, a member of the First UMC in Iraan was the best man at Kerry Kay's wedding!
-------------------------
Following the reception for the new D.S., we went to "Cattle Barons," a famous restaurant in Midland for dinner.
-------------------------
As you can tell, we're tired, but a good tired. We hope that your weekend was good for you, and you're ready for whatever the week holds!
